What do you think about Trump’s DOGE initiative investigating government corruption?

President Trump has launched a brand-new initiative called the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — headed by Elon Musk — with the mission of uncovering waste, fraud, and mismanagement across U.S. government agencies. DOGE has started digging into decades of unchecked government spending and what it's finding is shocking many Americans.

Here are just a few examples that have come to light: $870 million spent on a basic online survey that could’ve been done for under $5,000. Federal funds used for promoting LGBTQ awareness in foreign countries, where the U.S. has no clear national interest. “Mice transgender research” funded with millions from health budgets. Dead people aged 120+ still receiving Social Security checks. Kids as young as 17 approved for business loans meant for adult entrepreneurs. Millions spent on turning out voters in other countries.

DOGE supporters say this is the kind of hard reset the bloated government needs — real accountability, smart spending, and putting taxpayer money to better use. They see this as the start of a new era of transparency.

But critics — especially on the Left — are calling it a political stunt, accusing Trump of using DOGE to target Democrat-run departments and stir up anti-government sentiment. Some feel it’s an overstep by a billionaire meddling in public affairs, while others just don’t like the loud and dramatic way DOGE is operating.

While some Americans are cheering DOGE for finally pulling back the curtain, others worry this might be too much micromanagement and not the right way to fix the problem.
